The Story so Far……
Civilization has just stabilized and grown to new heights recently, within the limits of the city. Free, renewable energy has been found in the form of lazarus bars (pure solar energy,) quasi immortality has been found at SMART labs in the form of the medical “Lazarous Chamber,” in which the bars power the facility that removes all sickness and old aging aiments. When the world as we knew it ended, cloning became a reality to buff the numbers back up. Stem cell research was also no longer shunned and the combination of the two along with the right technological genius, created a situation in which we were able to create constantly renewable cells. People may still die from wounds and harm, but no longer die from disease like cancer and old age if they choose not too. The people of the concrete jungle have put us back in touch with humanity and nature in the form of constant quasi infinite supply of clean organic food. The city still however is new and remains without government. On what seems to be the dawn of true post scarcity economics, a new government and the document therein is under draft. The current draft on the table, is known as the “Treaty of Agreements,” in which the city will continue to help eachother toward further goals, and truly create a life in which the aquisition of wealth is no longer a driving force of humanity. Currency will be rid of and continued progression of existence will be the common goal. Outside the walls of this city is however, an entirely different story. While inside of the city, humanity is reaching ever new heights, the outside seems to be deteriorating at an ever rapid rate. The main source of food within the wasteland comes from highway robbery of citizens of Arcopolis and from cannibalism. The highest form of technology is primitive boom sticks and the sun is to be feared and hated, as it consistantly bakes more and more survivors, if it ever seems to peek through the clouds that is. The one word that could sum up the outside world is: Grey. Magma Lake is becoming ever bigger everyday. The Crater and The Mound have just appeared in recent weeks, and no one has dared investigate Them. Crops are dissapearing outside of the city walls. The Pygmy forest no venturer has ever returned from. And, no survivor has ever appeared to chart the known world any bigger than it currently is.
